FLUID TRANSFER SYSTEMS

As a designer of hose assemblies and tubing, Hutchinson is an acknowledged fluid transfer specialist for the automotive, aerospace, marine, defense, railroad and heavy truck markets.

Sealing resistive and instrumented circuits

Complex Systems

Hutchinson designs, in collaboration with its clients, complete systems that associate connectors, inserts, connection components and, more recently, electronic components such as sensors for temperature, pressure, and others.

The complexity of creating fluid transfer systems designed for the automotive, aerospace or marine markets is compounded by the necessity of taking vibration and acoustic considerations into account.

Diversity of material and ease of assembly

The design and creation of new circuits requires broad knowledge of systems that bring a variety of materials into contact with one another such as rubber, thermoplastics and metallic inserts, to name a few.
The very structure of tubing and fittings is composite, as the superposing of layers provides for different functions such as fluid blockage, pressure maintenance, protection and others. In order to facilitate assembly of circuits for water, air and fuel on automotive assembly lines, Hutchinson has developed a quick and particularly effective autoclip system.

Innovation that enhances performance and protects the environment

Whether they be for fuel or air-conditioning systems, Hutchinson is developing a new generation of flexible tubing that integrates barrier films that limit fluid evaporation into the atmosphere. Further research is being conducted for developing CO2-based air-conditioning systems.
Another trend that is gathering steam revolves around the increased temperatures and pressures due to supercharged motors.

Continuing development of materials and structures

The high-temperature LINKEO® hose assembly resists temperatures over 950°C in the toughest environments. LINKEO® absorbs motor vibrations as they exit and improves thermodynamics for providing optimum pollution control downstream from the exhaust line.
Meanwhile, Hutchinson has designed ultra-light sheaths or aeronautical applications that allow for reduced weight and, consequently, reduced fuel consumption. This sheath, the air sampling systems designed for cabin climate control and other products designed for the aeronautical market offer excellent fire resistance characteristics and help reduce sound levels.
