The Transmission Systems Business Unit designs and carries out engine front-end studies for transmission of power to the different accessories through belts, intended for the automotive market. Hutchinson is the specialist in POLY V^® belts, automatic tensioning idlers with hydraulic damping, pulleys and idlers made of thermosetting resin.

The Transmission Systems Business Unit has more than thirty years’ experience in molded POLY V® belts for use by makers throughout the world. Elastomer products have undergone ceaseless progress (CR then BR and now EPDM). These latest changes result in products with good behavior, excellent performances and long life. It also has unique experience with series production of elastic belts for cars and light trucks (FORD, MAZDA, FIAT, CHRYSLER, ALFA ROMEO, FERRARI).

Our capacity for calculation, simulation and prediction of the lifetimes of available components is considered to be second to none anywhere in the world. These skills developed for many years make us transmission system advisors recognized by clients and partners. The Transmission Systems Business Unit has set up strong partnerships with many complementary suppliers for its products in a function approach including MUBEA, INA, LITENS, ONE TOO, etc., thereby providing a service adapted to clients’ needs.

It is present and manufactures products in all global markets in Europe, Asia, North America and South America through commercial outlets in Germany, England, Brazil, Korea, Italy, Japan and the USA and production sites in Brazil, China, France and Poland.
