The O-ring is characterized by two dimensions, namely its inside diameter and its torus diameter. This simple-shaped part is used especially for static tightness but also in some dynamic applications (alternating linear or slow rotation movements).
It is the simplest and most economical sealing system and it is the most efficient. It is compact and its symmetry prevents assembly errors.
Due to its elastomer composition and its circular section, its deformation characteristics result in a seal that becomes better under pressure, although a low clamping pressure is sufficient.
The "elastic" quality (Remanent Compression Deformation) of elastomers is essential to maintain and ensure leak tightness that can vary as a function of time, temperature and the effects of fluids on the O-ring.

Presentation

The bonded seal is a metallic ring with a rectangular section inside which a trapezoidal section rubber ring is bonded and vulcanized. The type of metal and the elastomer family are defined as a function of the application, the fluid to be sealed and the temperature, etc.
The bonded seal is particularly suitable for sealing screw and bolt heads in pipework connectors.
It has the advantage that it can be disassembled and reused at low and high pressures.
The same part can perform two functions - sealing and filtering.

The JF4® ring is a seal with a section comprising four lobes. Its sealing principle is based on bending of lobes. It ensures a perfect tightness of pneumatic and oleopneumatic hydraulic devices.
The JF4® ring is suitable for dynamic and static applications during slow alternating and rotating movements.
Unlike lip seals and conventional seals, with the JF4 ring, there is no need to increase the size of equipment and therefore this ring can reduce their weight and consequently their cost price.
The JF4® ring is particularly suitable for application in which low sliding forces are necessary.
